  Chapter 1

  Macy

Macy Bradshaw grimaced backstage as the light caught the deep green sequins of her gown. She felt like a disco ball. Though the floor length dress had built in support, underwear had not been an option. It hugged her body like a second skin and Macy was grateful for the sequins that covered the layer of silk that coolly brushed her nipples. At the very least, she wouldn't be completely on display.

"And, next up to auction is Miss Macy Bradshaw! This spicy redhead will keep you on your toes as she negotiates your real estate contract and argues football with the best of them."

Macy groaned. These charity date auctions were all the rage this year in Dallas, and her friend Susie had finally roped her into doing one. Had she not really believed in the charity, one that benefited local children with cancer, she would have bowed out. Macy turned the corner and stepped on the stage, blinking as the lights momentarily blinded her. Putting her cheerleader smile on, she put a swing in her step and proceeded down the runway.

"Wowza, this stunner will certainly make your ex-girlfriend jealous. Do I see $500?"

As the bidding began, Macy sauntered to the end of the stage. A study in curves, she wore a dress that emphasized a large chest and generous hips with an ass that made finding jeans an issue. Macy thought of her old tap routine and put a bump in her step. Bumpa bump, bumpa bump, bumpa bump. She could only imagine the swing of her ass in this dress. In her late 20's, she had finally come to terms with her body, though she still wasn't the most confident in being on display. Trying not to blush, she worked the stage like a pro.

"This lovely lady used to be the Longhorn's top cheerleader before devastating hearts and retiring into real estate. She loves spicy Mexican food, a good book and long horseback rides. I'm sure we'd all love to see her on the back of a horse." The auctioneer leered at her good-naturedly and she laughed at him. She made a note to kick him in the shins later. She wondered who had written her "bio" for him. She bet it was Susie in her constant quest to hook Macy up.

At 32, Macy was far past the age she should have been married with children, at least in Dallas society. Her mother had all but given up on her. Macy was ready to marry simply for the fact that people would stop trying to set her up.

The bidding rose and Macy turned her back to the crowd. She threw out her hips and posed, looking back over her shoulder, head tilted down, looking out from under heavy lids that framed bright blue eyes and let her smile pucker softly. The bidding rose in frenzy and she almost rolled her eyes. Men were too easy. She worked her way back and froze as she heard a deep male voice say, "$75,000."

The auctioneer went wild. "$75,000! Can anyone top this? Going once, going twice, sold to..." he craned his neck to see in the back. "Number 236! Congratulations and well done, Macy!"

Macy felt the breath whoosh out of her as she stumbled off the stage. $75,000! That was half her yearly commission in real estate. Who was this man? She brushed past the people who offered her congratulations backstage until she found Susie.

"Oh my god Macy! Can you believe it? That is the highest bid on a date auction this year! You'll be in the paper! Can you believe it?" Susie all but squealed as she jumped up and down, clutching a file to her chest, the bounce of her dull brown ponytail punctuating her words.

"Susie. Yes, I know. Oh my god. Who is it? Please tell me who it is!"

"Oh gosh, of course. I'm sorry. Let me see." Susie pushed her glasses down on her nose and scanned the paper list of bidder's. "Lucky Breton. Oh my god, the billionaire oil tycoon. Ohhhhh you are so lucky. Girl, I bet he takes you on the best date," Susie rattled on, imagining all the finest restaurants that he would take her to.

Macy felt dizzy. She knew Lucky Breton. She'd known him when he was Matthew Breton, chess geek and scrawny high school nerd. She'd always been nice to him but he'd been rude to her, in fact, she'd always thought he was kind of a jerk. He'd left high school for Harvard and never looked back until he came home and struck it rich.

What did he want with her?

  Chapter 2

  Lucky

Lucky hated these charity dinners. He'd rather donate millions to a charity anonymously than attend one. However, this was his mother's pet charity and he'd promised he would attend. Determined to stick it out until dessert, he'd watched idly as the date auction began. These auctions were all the rage lately but he thought they were archaic and stupid. Who needed to bet on a girl when he'd had three of Dallas's elite slip him their numbers already this night? Sex was easy. After he'd broken out of his nerdy high school status, Lucky had discovered weight lifting. He'd grown into an athletic, lean man with a five o'clock shadow that he left because it worked for him. His one nod to his geeky past was the thick-framed glasses he kept tucked in his pocket. He found it amusing that the glasses that had once made him an outcast, now made women swoon when he put them on to read reports.

He tapped his finger idly on the table and checked his watch. He sipped his whiskey neat slowly and watched a blonde on stage, simpering and giggling, clearly, a Dallas debutante. She was one of thousands, nothing to distinguish her, all looking for a husband, babies and a pool boy. Lucky allowed the whiskey to settle on his tongue and enjoyed the warm slide of it down his throat. He rarely drank more than two or three. His days with over-drinking were past and control was his mantra now.

"....Macy Bradshaw!" Lucky nearly spit out his whiskey and coughed, covering his mouth with a napkin. His table looked at him and his mother thumped his back lightly.

Could it be Macy from high school? He watched as a redhead turned the corner in a blinding green dress. His mouth went dry. There was Macy Bradshaw – the focus of all of his teen wet dreams, his sexual angst and his awkward nervousness.

Macy in high school had been the object of many of his most prurient dreams. He knew most of the guys preferred the slim blondes with perky tits. Macy had been a contrast and he'd imagined just about every fantasy he could with her. She'd been the head cheerleader and though he hated football, he'd gone to games just to watch her body. She was all curves with an ass that he wanted to bite and breasts that hung heavy and bounced as she cheered. Macy Bradshaw running on the field to cheer had made him cum in his pants more than once.

Lucky cleared his throat and tried to think pure thoughts. His mother was at the table after all. He watched Macy strut down stage, the green dress hugging her body. It molded her sizable breasts and her hips did a bumpa bump rhythm that pumped through his belly. When she turned and tossed her mane
of red gold hair over her shoulder and shot a saucy look over it, he wanted to cry at the perfection of her ass. The things he would do to see that ass in a thong.

Macy moved towards the entrance to the stage and dimly he heard the bidding. Without thinking, he raised his paddle.

  "$75,000."

His mother gasped. The table applauded and the auctioneer went berserk.

"Any other bids? Do we have a higher bidder? No? Going once...going twice...and Miss Macy Bradshaw is sold to Number 236 for $75,000!"

  Chapter 3

  Macy

Macy made her way to the table to collect her wrap and her purse. She wasn't really sure what happened next. She'd been sure to check the rules of the 'date' that she was given but all the guidelines said was that she would agree to spend the day with whomever purchased the time with her. She supposed it was only a day and it was for charity. She fidgeted again. Not wearing underwear under the dress was making her hypersensitive. Again, she thanked the coverage of the sequins. Her sensitive nipples were an embarrassment for her and she often wore a padded bra to hide them.

She turned and saw Lucky standing by the auctioneer's table. He tore off a check and handed it to the auctioneer who all but bowed in gratitude. Lucky looked up and directly at her. Feeling foolish, she smiled and gave a half wave. She stood where she was. He could come to her.

Lucky walked to her. She knew everyone was watching and could only imagine the gossips. He stood before her. He'd had a growth spurt and she was forced to look up to meet his eyes. His thick dark hair was deliberately unruly, his dark brown eyes were shrewd, and his skin was the dusky gold of someone who spent their days in the sun. A smile quirked his lips and stubble shadowed his chiseled jaw. Macy gulped. He had grown up. This man before her was only a hint of the geeky string bean she'd known in high school. Power and charisma radiated from him and Macy felt her nipples tighten.

Lucky smiled and lifted her hand to his lips. "Good to see you again, Macy. You look as lovely as ever." His eyes coolly assessed hers and he kept her hand at his lips a moment longer than he should have. Heat traveled down her skin and began to pool in her stomach.

She jerked her hand down. "Um, Matthew, so good to see you again."

"It's Lucky. I don’t go by Matthew anymore."

"Well, Lucky, it's good to see you. I hear you've done well for yourself." Macy cursed herself. It was the understatement of the year as Lucky's fortune rivaled a small country's GNP.

Lucky smiled, his teeth a flash of white in a bronzed face. "Ready for our date? I have the car pulled up."

"What, our date? Now? It's 10:00. Where are we going? I thought we would arrange something." Macy fidgeted with her purse and dropped the wrap she had been holding. Lucky smiled at her as he bent and picked the wrap up, holding it to himself and refusing to hand it over.

"The rules say that I get a day with you. 24 hours. I'm claiming it now. Unless you have prior responsibilities? He raised an eyebrow at her.

  "Um, well."

  "Kids?"

  "What? No."

"Dogs? Boyfriend? Husband? Work?" Lucky rattled off the questions and she knew it was a losing situation.

"No to all. I took tomorrow off from showing houses as I knew tonight would go long."

  "Perfect, let's go."

Macy gulped and searched for Susie. She caught her friend's eye as Lucky put his hand at the small of her back and propelled her from the ballroom. She waved feebly and Susie gave her two thumbs up. Macy rolled her eyes and tried to concentrate on walking. Lucky's hand burned through the silk of her dress. She squirmed at the heat. Her mind was whirling. What was happening here?

A Rolls Royce limo waited for them. It was tinted a dull gray and the partition was up as Macy slid onto tan leather seats as soft as butter. Champagne chilled in a bucket. She breathed deeply and fumbled in her purse. Macy briefly checked her makeup and reapplied lip gloss to her generous lips. She would need all of her tools to stay ahead of Lucky.

"Do you like barbecue?" Lucky asked as he slid into the car.

  "Um no, not typically."

Lucky quickly pressed a button. "Jim, stop for tacos instead." The limo pulled smoothly into traffic and Lucky reached over and motioned to the champagne. "Do you drink?"

"Sure, I'll have a small glass." Macy had to be careful to not drink too much. She had a tendency to be a little touchy feely when she had too much to drink.

"I'm starving. These charity dinners always serve the tiniest of portions of food. No wonder half the people end up making fools of themselves. They pour too much liquor and serve barely any food."

Macy nodded; she was starving. She decided to go on the offensive.

"So, Matthew, I mean Lucky, where are you taking me? I feel like you are trying to take me away or something."

"We're going to my ranch. Outside Austin." Macy gulped. That was several hours away. Was this going to be an overnight?

"Um, excuse me? That is hours away. What is your plan? I don’t have any clothes or my toiletries. And, I do not plan to sleep in my dress tonight, thank you very much." She put on her best prissy act.

Lucky eyed her and pulled out his cell phone.

"Margaret? Hi, could you do me a favor? I need some women's clothes. Stylish. Sexy. Something to sleep in too. I'd say a size..." He ran his eyes up and down her as Macy's mouth hung open. "Probably a size eight. Shoe size?" He raised his eyebrows at Macy.

"I'm a ten. In shoe and clothes." She couldn't bring herself to blurt out her bra size and hoped that there would be something to cover her. Going braless in a t-shirt made her look like a porn star.

Lucky smiled and finished his instructions. The limo pulled to a stop and a few minutes later there was a knock on the back door. Lucky rolled the window down and pulled two take out bags inside. Spicy scents filled the limo and Macy's stomach growled.

"Dig in." Lucky said. He pulled gold plates from a sideboard and served her a few tacos. Macy rolled her eyes at the gold plates. Of course, he would have gold plates.

Macy quickly devoured her tacos, trying to avoid Lucky's scrutiny and failed.

"I like a girl that isn't afraid to eat in front of a man. All those skinny debutantes who pick at their salads and pout. It's annoying."

"Ha! Well, I've failed dreadfully in the debutante department much to my mother's disgust. I don't think she even knows what to do with me. She never really did." Macy thought of her perpetually perfect mother and winced. She could only imagine what she would say about this.

"Ah yes, Judith. I remember her. She was the head of everything in high school it seemed. Quite the perfect mom with the perfect daughter." The last words came out a bit resentfully.

"Far from it. I hated all the things she made me do in high school. I never could quite live up to my sister." Macy wiped her mouth and downed her champagne without realizing it. Talking about her mom stressed her out.

"What? Miss perfect head cheerleader? Dated the prom king? Miss popular? How could that not be enough?" Lucky spoke bitterly.

Macy looked at him. His tanned face turned away from her and he crouched low in the limo as he approached her, cleaning up her plates and refilling her glass. This time, he sat next to her, his legs sprawling open and brushing hers. Lucky leaned back against the seat and loosely toyed with a lock of Macy's hair. His sudden closeness made her jumpy.

"Ha, dated. You know the prom king was gay, right? Mom forced me to go out with him because we were family friends. He's a nice guy though."

Lucky had heard that rumor years later. He'd wished he'd known it in high school. It would have saved him some bouts of blinding jealousy. "So, not is all that it appears to be." Lucky murmured as looked at Macy's chest and then into her eyes.

"What about you? You were always so mean to me in high school." Macy blurted out.

Lucky dropped her hair and stared at her. "I was not mean to you. I avoided you. You were everything I wasn't."

"You were. You were a nasty snott
y geek and every time I tried to be nice to you, you gave me such shit back. God, I thought you were so annoying." Macy couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth. She stared at the champagne and took another sip. Perhaps drinking without eating all day was making her tolerance a little lower than normal. She looked around for a place to put the glass.

Lucky grabbed it from her, downed it and threw it across the limo. Macy sat back, stunned.

"You drove me crazy. You still do. I couldn't be nice to you. I had to keep you at a distance."

"Drove you crazy? I did no such thing. I was nothing but nice to you and you were a total shit. You still are." Her cheeks flushed at her audacity and her breath came in small puffs. Her chest rose as she struggled to breathe against the constraints of her dress. Lucky stared down into her heaving bosom, the sequins amplifying their glory, and fixated on her mouth.

"Well, since you have such a poor opinion of me anyway." He grabbed Macy's arms and pulled her to him, forcing her to sprawl across his lap, and devoured her mouth with his own.

Macy gasped and tried to push him back. How dare he put his hands on her? This wasn't a part of the auction rules. She lay across his chest and his strong arms held hers down, unable to move. She squeaked her outrage as his mouth assaulted her own. He sucked at her bottom lip, teasing it and nibbled. Despite herself, she moaned. He seized the chance her open mouth presented and slipped his tongue inside, mimicking a slow rhythm. In and out, dipping and diving, suckling. He made love to her mouth, and Macy's resistance trembled.

Lucky gently released her arms and pulled her closer, delving his tongue more deeply into her mouth. Macy's insides turned into liquid fire and her clit screamed. Unable to move, she wantonly rubbed her nipples across his chest, the silk of the dress multiplying the heat of their bodies until she wanted to beg. Imprisoned by his arms, Macy's hips began an involuntary rhythm against his body.

Lucky sucked her tongue and lifting her effortlessly, he rolled until she was beneath him on the long bench of the limo. He pulled the top of her dress down and her breasts exploded into his hands. He stared at her for a moment and Macy gaped at him in shock. He flashed her a smile and bent over and licked her nipple. Macy gasped and arched her back. Instant heat shot to her stomach.
